Green Deal Horizon 2020

With its new priority for a European Green Deal the European Commission plans to make EU’s economy sustainable, by turning the climate and environmental challenges into opportunities.

In Horizon 2020 the Green Deal call  has been added to create visible close-to-market R&I projects that can help make the EU fully sustainable by 2050.

In preparation of the Research and Innovation days (22-24 september) where all the calls will be presented in detail, we will organize two webinars about this topic: one on 09 September and one on 11 September.

On the 11th an expert from the European Commission (Sven Schade) will give his in-dept view into the background of the Green Deal. In the second part of this webinar,  we will give some information on the partnering tools in order for you to form a good consortium for the upcoming calls. We will close it off with a latest update on the EU Research and Industry days.

Registration and more information for both events can be found here.

ANERIS - Next generation tools for sensing and monitoring marine-life

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-INFRA-2022-TECH-01) and running from 2023 to 2026, the ANERIS project aims to tackle the rapid loss of ocean biodiversity. The project’s main objective is to develop, test and implement the next generation of scientific instrumentation tools and methods for sensing and monitoring marine-life. Another key concept of the project is the introduction of the concept of Operational Marine Biology (OMB) as a biodiversity information system. The project consortium consists of 25 partners from 13 countries. Read more about the project and the contribution of Flemish partner VLIZ in this testimonial.
