ICT2020 is cancelled

The 2020 edition of the ICT Conference, that was scheduled for 1-3 December in Cologne, has been cancelled. At this yearly event typically the call topics for the coming year are presented, results of ongoing and recently finished projects are showcased and you can get in contact with other players in this digital innovation ecosystem.

The COVID-19 crisis has led European governments to take exceptional measures to avoid the spread of the disease. However the virus is still present and spreading across the continent. For that reason, and given the persisting sanitary risks linked with an international gathering of several thousands of people, the German government has decided, in agreement with the European Commission, to cancel the ICT 2020 conference, scheduled for December 1-3 in Cologne.

This comes as an enormous disappointment to the whole ICT community. The Commission is exploring options to reschedule the event in 2021 and make sure that the preparatory work for the ICT 2020 can be used. Before it happens, DG Connect will participate in the European Research & Innovation Days.

Keep an eye on the NCP Flanders website to stay informed about the upcoming ICT call topics under Horizon Europe - more information is expected in the autumn.
